Bollywood town most eligible spinsters

Even as love affairs continue to be Bollywood’s favourite fixation, there are some beauties that amaze us with their forever single status.

A zillion controversies notwithstanding, these women have managed to keep themselves off Cupid’s attack for years now, even though they have romanced some of the hottest men we know on-screen.

‘Too sexy for my shoes’ - Mallika Sherawat

The sexiest bombshell who has enchanted us not just with her hot and wild onscreen moves but also with her tongue-in-cheek comedy, one would expect Mallika Sherawat to have an envious love life. But contrary to her on-screen image, the sexy diva maintains that she swears by chaste behaviour when it comes to her personal life.

Not just that, but in what can be called an unbelievable occurrence in B-town, Mallika has not even once been linked to a co-star.

‘Kahin karta hoga…’ - Vidya Balan

One of the most elegant personalities in the industry, Vidya Balan’s feminineness and grace needs no introduction. The ‘Piya Bole’ charmer, she’s probably the one actress who every young bachelor wants to take home to mom. Stylish yet subtle, sensuous yet shy and bold yet beautiful is what makes Vidya the ultimate long-term relationship material.

But for reasons best known only to the pretty actress herself, Vidya has steered clear of dating regimes. Now whether this is truly due to the lack of equally charming men or is it just the wait for that knight in shining armour, we think it is high time Vidya considers casual dating. After all, as Irrfan Khan says, “Jab tak garage se gaadi nikaloge nahi, tab tak pataa kaise chalega?”

‘Mujhse shaadi karoge?’ - Amrita Rao

The cutest thing that ever happened to Bollywood in recent times, Amrita Rao is nothing short of marriage material. The simple and shy girl-next-door, Amrita has always stood up for her middle-class family values.

Little wonder then that the actress has also kept herself from casual relationships and is waiting for that special someone just like she did in ‘Ishq Vishq’. And even as rumours of romance with co-star Shahid rose and fell, Amrita’s dignified silence only secured her stance as an ideal bahu!

‘That don’t impress me much’ - Raima Sen

The beauty endowed with brains, Raima Sen’s a class apart in contemporary film fraternity. Blessed with not just Bengali features but also a natural penchant for literary classics, Raima’s love life is almost non-existent.

A stark contrast to her sister Riya who doesn’t just date men her age but even notorious men like Salman Rushdie, Raima’s choosiness and expensive taste perhaps explains her single status.

No doubt the one track she’d swear by would be Shania Twain’s hit number ‘That don’t impress me much…’

Koi mere dil se pooche’ - Esha Deol

Seven years and still single in the filmdom could sound surprising but that’s Esha Deol for you. Committed – to work! But even on work front, she has films in her kitty but nothing great to be able to make it to the A-list. That makes her life not cool… but thanda… on both professional and personal front.

Blame it to her social upbringing with strong family values by mother Hema Malini or a strict disciplinarian father Dharmendra who wasn’t even keen when Esha desired to get into films. Nevertheless Esha is completely fine with her single status and wants to take it slow and steady in finding that real special someone.

Now, may be it is this very single status that establishes her as the mysterious sex diva.
